My Golden Flaming Silver Star Retriever!

That flaming ball of fire cools down

Setting beautifully, what splendid colors

Carrot Pink, Orangeindigo and Vermillionblue,

Royal Violet, Prussian purple and Grey of many hues

The dusk dawns and the night falls

Till Silvery Black is all thats seen

Stars drop down and heavens stand tall

Marred by scattered fluffs of cotton balls

The mooney crescent cradles that one 'lone' shining star

My star, My friend of many woofs

Of bounding leaps and flapping ears

Of twinkling eyes and lapping tears

Of wagging tail and digging paws

Fluffy Mud, My handsome stud

I missed you but each time I see my lone star I would know its because you are there that I live my life fully. Thank you Mud.

Just this morning I was thinking of him so intensely (Though I start my day looking at him everyday...he is on my desktop and I poke my pointy cursor at his nose, ears and everywhere else I know he will respond by his sniffs and snuffs)and was missing him so much, you just stole words of my mouth didi! He is the fluff ball without which, we woudn't ever be complete. I miss the feel of his muzzle and the cold-wet nose and the "I swear I did not do it didi" face and the one where he says "If you didn't know, I've been waiting for the last 30 years for a walk" and the drama he did about his food...always wondered if he was a pig, toad, crocodile or a dog :)

As I read this, i looked at copper, sprawled on his back, his jewels shamelessly exposed, his tummy catching every little wiff of the fan stirred breeze. My heart sank a bit. Its one of life's quirks that we are bound to outlive our pet loves.

add to that Nunu, 'Mudsy so sweet aaya' and his frantic barks to scare away the other rival!

Gosh this took me back in time ... I remember the day he came home, the tussle over his name when I distinctly remember uncle's contribution to name him Alphanso. Our long walks with him pulling us in different directions. And most of all his merry go round dance he did whenever I came over.

Thanks for taking us back to good old childhood!
